The first wine bar in Mauergasse
Balthasar Ress was a passionate host. His descendant Christian Ress also possesses this gene and has long dreamed of having his own wine bar under the winer estate's name. In 2013, an opportunity arose for implementation in a listed building in Mauergasse in Wiesbaden. The concept developed in the meantime was taken out of the drawer.
Since its opening in April 2013, the then first Balthasar Ress Weinbar & Vinothek has enriched Wiesbaden's city center. Located at Mauergasse 10, in the middle of the pedestrian zone of the Hessian capital, it is considered the first wine bar and has become a popular meeting place for connoisseurs in the Hessian capital. Six days a week, numerous Balthasar Ress wines as well as selected wines from partner wineries can be enjoyed by the glass and taken home or ordered at estate prices (the delivery is free of charge without minimum order quantity in Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and the Rheingau region). In addition, artisan-prepared small dishes and delicacies are offered. Theme evenings and tastings as well as live music on many Saturdays complete the offer.
Private Party
The Wine Bar can be used exclusively for your party or reception, even outside regular opening hours, subject to a minimum reservation. Reservations for individual tables or the higher back level are also gladly accepted. Wine tastings arranged exclusively for your group can also be held on site. Depending on the concept, there is room for up to 35 people inside.
