Harvest Report Sylt 2023

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, our highly motivated Harvest-Dream team headed to the island Sylt to harvest our northernmost vineyard in Keitum. The team consisted of experienced professionals Achim Sebo, Michael Prinz, Dominic Nebel and Markus Roll. They were supported by around 100 vineyard tenants from all over Germany who had traveled especially for this special event. The weather cooperated perfectly and the sun shone over the vineyard, so that the harvest conditions were excellent.

In an amazingly short time of only 60 minutes, the 2500 square meters of Solaris vines were harvested under brilliant sunshine. The harvest size was noticeably smaller than in previous years.

After the successful harvest, the harvesters were able to take a well-deserved break, enjoying the current vintage of Söl'ring Solaris sparkling wine, accompanied by relaxed vibes and a tasty catering service by "Tofree". The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the cozy finale from 3:00 p.m. at wineBANK Sylt accompanied by the VITIS wine bar in Westerland.

Upon their return to the Balthasar Ress winery, experienced cellarmaster Stephan Sänger reported extremely promising results. Sugar levels were an impressive 82° Oechsle, and acidity levels were 9.5 g/liter. These values promise a true gem for the production of the 2023 Söl'ring sparkling wine and give hope for an exquisite vintage.

We can look forward with anticipation to the 2023 Söl'ring Sekt that will emerge from this harvest.
